NiT GRiT
San Jose based Dubstep and Glitch producer Danny Beall, also known as NiT GRiT, is a quickly rising star in the booming West Coast bass music scene. With several of his tracks breaking Soundcloud.com's top ten most played tunes, NiT GRiT is rapidly staking his claim. Hollow Point and Rottun Recordings' Triage says, His use of synthetic melodies and bit crushed rhythms definitely caught our attention. Dark and twisted melodies mark his signature sound - best seen through his heavily popular remix of Stellamara's Prituri Se Planinata, which is getting frequent playtime by dubstep's heaviest players. He's recently found a new home at Simplify Recordings, where his forthcoming releases DMT, Synthetic Heaven, and what Am I will be released June 2010.

THE JUG DEALERS Jug Dealers hit the road in 2005 as an authentic old time jug band, wowing festival audiences and listeners, and even receiving a spotlight on NPR's All Things Considered. Over the next three years they recruited some of the best talent from the SF Bay area, adding more conventional instruments and rapidly evolving into a larger, more sophisticated act. With a mash-up of Classic American Roots, Neo-Soul, Improvisational Jazz, Funk, and Ragtime, their audio brews are steeped in tradition, yet continually forward looking. Pushing the boundaries of modern music while paying homage to the past, the Dealers bring a freshness and relevance that appeals to audiences of all ages and genres.
After years of sharpening their skills in studios and on stages with acts including Melvin Seals JGB, Everyone Orchestra w/ Steve Kimock and Michael Kang, 7 Walkers, Radioactive, Moonalice, Hot Buttered Rum, Poor Man's Whiskey, and many others'Jug Dealers released their self-titled debut album in April 2011. Tracking at the legendary Studio E in Sebastopol, CA, with overdubs and mixing at Faultline Studios (SF) and Scissor Hand Studios (Rohnert Park), they were able to capture the raw energy of their stage performances, later polishing it with with all-star performances by Barry Sless on pedal steel (Moonalice, Phil and Friends, DNB), Danny Eisenberg on piano and organ (Mother Hips, Ryan Adams), and Brino Ism on whiskey box and vocals (Patch Adams, XX/O). The album has garnered much praise from industry insiders and fans everywhere, and will soon be available on vinyl. Bust out your train hopping gear, polish your best interpretational dance moves, and come see one of the hottest bands on the West Coast!
THE EASY LEAVES
The Easy Leaves formed north of the Golden Gate in 2008 when songwriters Kevin Carducci and Sage Fifield combined influences and distilled their first batch of original material. With both immersed in the diverse sounds of flailing rockers, gospel skeptics, and country outlaws- the resulting collaboration meanders from grassland stomps into personal spirituals, from minor swings to honky-tonk grinds, and conveys subtle grooves reminiscent of the golden age of R&B. They've crafted a versatile sound that never wanders too far from it's roots, while continually sprawling out in new directions. Their performances, fueled by a two-stroke blend of raw emotion and rhythmic force, are marked by honest moments of self-deprecating humor and an understated lyrical integrity. Their earnest tone is one of celebration that translates to a full range of atmospheres- from quiet listening rooms to crowded dive bars- inspiring listeners to dance, cry, stomp, drink, and shout- and often, to come back for more.
