Q. What is your address? A. 230 Petaluma Ave - Sebastopol, CA - 95472 Q. When are you open? A. We are open every day of the year except Christmas and New Year lunch. 11:30 open - food ends usually around 9:30, 10pm and beyond this time of year, especially with shows. We seat for lunch and dinner in the Tavern and the Beer Garden. Q. Is there free parking? A. We have lots of free parking. Q. We want to eat before the show. Will we need reservations? A. Yes, we strongly recommend reservations. Many people will have the same idea and we want to be sure you have a pleasant experience. When you call, tell the hostess that you are going to the show. She will work with you to help determine how much time you will need for dinner so that you can get in to the Abbey before the show starts. Q. Can I get food in the Abbey? A. Yes - - until the kitchen closes. Check with your bartender or server. Q. When is last call? A. Most night’s last call is at 1:30am Q. Will I get a seat? A. Most of our shows have limited seating with the exception of comedy and other select shows. Look for “an evening with” in the description of the show and it will usually be fully seated. Just wear comfortable shoes and know there is always seating out in the Beer Garden if you want to take a break… people enjoy migrating in and out of the Abbey, especially on those warm summer evenings. Q. I am handicapped, will I get a seat. A. Of course, if you have special needs just inform our staff and we will do our very best to accommodate you. Q. What door is used to enter the Abbey? A. It depends on the show and the weather conditions. If it is not obvious please ask our hostess. Q. Is it OK to take photographs of the shows? A. Most of the time it is. If it is a local band, it is ok 99.9% of the time. If it is a high profile touring band, you will want to ask management but it is usually OK as well. Please do not use a flash with out permission. Also have fun posting your pics on to our new Facebook page. Q. May I record the show? Audio/Video A. Not without the permission of the artist and/or Hopmonk Tavern. Q. Can people under 21 attend? A. Only on selected shows and Open Mic Tuesdays. Q. What types of identification do you accept? A. We accept only valid identifications with a photo and a physical description. Temporary driver’s licenses are not valid because it is not a photo ID. Q. I only have a Passport, can I get in to the show? A. No. Unfortunately U.S. Passports are not considered to be a valid form of ID in California, because they lack a physical description. It sounds crazy but that’s the law. If you have an International Passport, we can accept that as long as there is the physical description. Q. Can I get all 16 drafts in the Abbey also? A. Yes! All of our great beers are served in both bars. Q. Do you offer non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers? A. Let your server know that you’re the designated driver for the evening and we’ll serve you NA drinks like coffee and sodas for free. Q. Is there a designated smoking area? A. We have a smoking area outside in the West Beer Garden. Smoking is never allowed in the main beer garden or under the tent - in winter. Q. Are there restrooms in the Beer Garden? A. Yes. The freestanding building in the beer garden has full access restrooms. Q. What happens when I leave my credit credit card? A. If we find it we’ll hold it for you in the office (it happens all the time). Q. What happens to the Beer Garden in the winter? A. We put up the big, heated tent. Q. Free Wifi? A. Cab companies you'd recommend? A. You bet! We strongly encourage our guests to drink responsibly! Our staff/security will gladly call a taxi for you at anytime. And remember, let our staff know if you are the DD, and you can receive your non-alcoholic drink on the house! How can I get a monthly calendar - when is it published? A. You can find a printable version at our website by going to the “Music Venue” or drop by the Tavern and ask our hostess for one. Normally by the 15th of every month we will have a new calendar for the following month. Q. Can I get weekly email blast - how do I sign up for it? A. Absolutely. Just visit our website and join our mailing list or when you come in to the Tavern to purchase tickets give us your email address. Q. What time are your shows? A. Our shows start at different times depending on which night it is (Sunday will typically be earlier than Friday night) and the type of music. We have shows that are geared toward some older folks, and let’s face it… they might not want to stay out until 1:30AM, so those shows might start early, like 8pm. We have many shows that appeal to a younger crowd so that show might start at 9 or 9:30. Check our website for door and show times. Q. Do all of your shows have an opening act? A. No, not all of them but if there is an opening act they typically go on 45 minutes to an hour before the headliner. Q. Are beer garden performances free? A. Yes – all beer garden shows are free. This is a great way to see some select, up and coming singer songwriters. Many of these musicians you will be paying to see very soon… They have a tip jar of course and really like to see it fill up. Q. Do you have an Open Mic? A. Yes! Open Mic is hosted every Tuesday Night by our own Bill DeCarli. This is a great night to hear free, great quality, local music and entertainment. Check it out. You will be amazed. TICKETING FOR THE SHOWS AT HOPMONK TAVERN Q. Can I purchase tickets in advance? A. Yes, for most of our shows. We encourage you to buy in advance so that you are able to get in to that show that sells out before the doors open. If you snooze you lose… The exceptions would be Monday Night Edutainment, Open Mic, Juke Joint and Free Shows. Q. Where can I purchase tickets? A. You can purchase them online at our website or at the Tavern bar. Q. Will I get a hard ticket? A. No, Here is how it works… *TICKETS ONLINE- We encourage those who purchase tickets online to print out the confirmation and bring it with. This is also a great way to be certain that your order went through. If you did not receive confirmation then there is a strong likelihood that it did not. You will then check in at the door to the show with your ID to check your name off of the will call list. *IN THE TAVERN- If you purchase tickets in the tavern your name is put on our will call list. We always encouraged folks to save the receipt and bring it to the show. Just to be on the safe side. Be prepared to show ID Q. What’s the deal with online In-Ticketing fee? A. There is a service fee associated with the purchase of a ticket on line. By purchasing your ticket in advance, you will be assured that you will get in to the show in the event of a sell out at the door. You are also making a contribution to the environment with In-Ticketing’s One tree planted per ticket sold program. *One tree planted per ticket sold In 2003, In Ticketing partnered with Trees for the Future, an organization dedicated to regenerating the earth by planting trees. This organization has been helping communities around the world plant trees through seed distribution and agroforestry training. Planting trees protects the environment and helps to preserve traditional livelihoods and cultures for generations. In Ticketing has sponsored the planting of hundreds of thousands trees to date. Q. Can I leave tickets for a friend? A. Sure, we will ask you for your friends name and contact information. Q. Can I reserve a ticket and pay later? A. No, we require that all prepay tickets must be fully paid for prior to the show. Q. Can I get the prepay discount on my tickets If I purchase them in the Tavern the day of the show? A. No, to receive the prepay discount you must purchase you tickets before the day of the show Q. If I am unable to make the show after purchasing tickets can I get my money back? A. No, sorry. All sales are final… You can transfer them to a friend or find a way to sell them. i.e. Craigslist Q. Can I purchase tickets over the phone? A. No. Unfortunately there are bad people out there who will try to use a lost or stolen credit card. We wouldn’t want that to happen to you. Q. Do you take credit + debit cards? A. Yes. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover when purchasing a ticket on line or beforehand in the tavern. You do need to have cash on hand to purchase tickets at the door the night of the show. If you don’t, then purchase your tickets in the Tavern and keep you receipt on your way through the Tavern to the Abbey. Coming shortly
